The Quality Parts Coalition

On March 22, 2010, the U.S. House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the “Access to Repair Parts Act” (H.R. 3059/S. 1368), legislation that would preserve consumer choice and competition in the automotive aftermarket. The Quality Parts Coalition’s diverse members and supporters offered testimony in support of the legislation at the hearing.

Act now and tell your legislators to support the “Access to Repair Parts Act.” Visit the QPC Legislative Action Center to showcase your support.

The Quality Parts Coalition represents the interests of the independent parts industry, repairers, insurers, consumers and seniors.

It is the goal of the Quality Parts Coalition to develop and secure a permanent legislative change to U.S. design patent law to preserve competition and to protect the consumer's right to benefit from quality, lower-cost alternative replacement parts.

Without such an exclusion
for repair in design patent law, American consumers would be the ultimate losers from the disappearance of the independent, alternative
auto parts industry.
